From November 20 to 24, 2026, the China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) is organizing a collective participation of German companies, with a total of 44 German exhibitors covering an exhibition area of approximately 2,200 square meters. Germany has become the second-largest participating country after China at this exhibition, and more VDMA members are participating through their subsidiaries in China.

Market Focus & Theme
The VDMA member companies exhibiting cover almost all categories of textile machinery, including spinning, chemical fibers, nonwovens, weaving, knitting, finishing and post-finishing, and textile processing. China has long been the largest single export market for German textile machinery, and the ITMA Asia in Shanghai has become a key platform for German companies to showcase new technologies, connect with customers, and communicate investment plans. The theme for this year’s participation is “Leading Textile Technologies Tailored for Your Success,” focusing on solutions that enhance production efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and adapt to customized production requirements, while providing full lifecycle services from equipment development and customized manufacturing to on-site operation and maintenance.

Several leading member companies shared their technological directions. Barmag launched the POY 2.0 solution, breaking away from the traditional percentage-based efficiency iterations and redesigning the entire spinning process, balancing efficiency, quality, sustainability, and labor challenges, representing an innovation at the production philosophy level. Mahr Metering Systems focused on the precision of core components, with its gear metering pumps serving the entire chemical fiber process from polymer delivery to post-treatment, relying on equipment stability and durability to reduce production failures and the risk of quality loss. Hansa Industrie‑Mixer demonstrated mixing, batching, and foaming technologies; in textile finishing coatings and functional treatments, precise and controllable processes are a key guarantee for achieving fabric feel and protective performance.
