The inauguration of the Tiangong University Joint Laboratory for Recycling of Waste Textile Materials

Recently, Tianjin University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as “Tian Gong Da”) and China Resources Recycling Group Green Fiber Co., Ltd. jointly inaugurated the “Waste Textile Materials Resource Recycling Joint Laboratory” and held a signing ceremony for the cooperation projects in Tianjin, simultaneously unveiling the “Student Internship and Practice Base.”

Jiang Yong, President of Tianjin University of Technology, stated that as a national “Double First-Class” construction university, the university has distinctive features in the field of textile science and engineering. The recycling and utilization of waste textile materials is an important direction for the university to serve the national strategy and promote industrial development. The university will actively support the construction of the joint laboratory, coordinate multidisciplinary resources, and provide support in scientific research projects, platform sharing, graduate education, and achievement transformation, striving to build the laboratory into a new highland for technological innovation, talent cultivation, and achievement transformation.

Han Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Resources Recycling Group, stated that the establishment of Green Fiber Company by the group aims to address the industry’s challenge of high-value utilization of waste textiles. Both parties will take the joint laboratory as a new starting point, focusing on key areas such as environmentally friendly decolorization pretreatment, strengthening collaborative research, joint talent cultivation, and industrial co-development, creating a benchmark for university-enterprise cooperation in the field of resource recycling, and contributing more significantly to the construction of China’s circular economy system.

In addition, both parties have also mutually appointed corporate mentors and “Jingwei Action” technology advisors, further solidifying the talent foundation for the deep integration of industry, academia, and research.
